CLASSROOM, INC. WELCOMES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
NEW YORK, July 17, 2013 - Classroom, Inc. announced the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors: Michael Levine, PhD,
Executive Director of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop; and Lorraine Shanley, President of Market Partners International.

close the achievement gap, using technology and the world of work to engage, empower, inspire, and teach at-risk adolescents.”
Michael H. Levine, PhD is the founding executive director of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop, an action research and innovation
hub devoted to harnessing the potential of digital media to advance young children’s learning and development. Levine also serves in a senior
executive position on Sesame Workshop’s leadership team, concentrating on policy and educational impact for the global media non-profit.
The Cooney Center conducts research, develops breakthrough prototypes and design challenges, informs practice, and convenes leaders to promote
investments in high quality media experiences for vulnerable youth. Prior to joining the Center, Dr. Levine served as Vice President of New Media
and Executive Director of Education for the Asia Society, managing the global nonprofit’s interactive media and educational initiatives.
Previously Dr. Levine oversaw Carnegie Corporation of New York’s groundbreaking work in early childhood development, educational media and primary
grades reform, and was a senior advisor to the New York City Schools Chancellor. Dr. Levine has served as an adviser to several government agencies
including the White House, the U.S. Department of Education, PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
Lorraine Shanley is President of Market Partners International, a New York based consultancy that specializes in traditional and digital publishing in the
US and internationally. Founded in 1990, MPI has worked with the major book and magazine publishers in the US, Europe and Asia and is one of the
largest recruiters of talent for the publishing industry. In addition, MPI consults with major cultural institutions and foundations, on various aspects of
content development, distribution and digital initiatives.
Shanley is on the advisory board of New York University’s Publishing Program, Chair of Publishers Launch/Digital Book World’s Children’s Digital Media
Conferences, a member and past president of Women’s Media Group, and on the Jefferson Scholars Foundation fellowship selection committee at the
University of Virginia.
